My HomePod can’t access Apple Music to play

Power cycle your router and your HomePod. Try again. If needs be see the Press the top of HomePod to reset it section of Reset HomePod - Apple Support and follow the steps carefully as given.

I tried your suggestion but once I logged out of home pod account I could not sign back in. It responded that it could not connect to internet. My internet is up and running. I even changed my Apple ID password to no avail. Now I’m up the creek.
Try Home app > long press on HomePod > Accessory Details > Scroll down past gear icon > Music & Podcasts > Primary User > HomePod account > Sign Out. Then Sign In again.

I had to disconnect the HomePods and reinstall them and then they connected to Apple Music.
