How do you shut off iPod nano 4th or 5th generation?

We can’t figure out how to shut-off my sons iPod nano 4th or 5th generation. Any clues? We got it on pause for now…🎵🎶🎵

If you're unable to shut it down, try force restarting it so that you can try to shut it down normally: Learn how to force restart your iPod - Apple Support


"iPod nano (5th generation) and earlier

Put the Hold switch firmly in the unlocked position. Then press and hold the Menu and Center (or Select) buttons for 8 seconds, or until you see the Apple logo.
