27" Thunderbolt display and Mac Studio

I have a new Mac Studio and a 27" Studio display and is working fine. I was told by our Apple reseller that I would be able to use our existing 27" Thunderbolt displays as a 2nd monitor but it doesn't work. I plug in a 27" Dell cheap screen and that works fine. Why doesn't this new pc support Apple products?

Do you have the M1 Max Studio computer? On than model the two ports on the front are only USB-C, not Thunderbolt, and will not work with a Thunderbolt adapter even though the plug will fit. The four rear ports are Thunderbolt on both the M1 Max and M1 Ultra versions.

Are you sure you have the Thunderbolt display (Cable has two plugs: MagSafe, Thunderbolt. Lightning bolt icon on Thunderbolt plug.) and not the similar 27" LED display (Cable has three plugs: MagSafe, USB, Mini DisplayPort, no Lightning bolt icon.)? A Mini DisplayPort plug will fit the Thunderbolt adapter but won't work. For that you need a USB-C to Mini DisplayPort adapter.
