Using a DisplayLink 4K USB-C Dock with a 2020 iPad Air?

If I connect my iPad Air via USB-C to any ‘HP’ branded DisplayLink 4K (G2/HSN-IX02) docking stations in our office space the attached, keyboard, mouse, charging and network are properly interfaced and working fine.

Yet both via a DisplayPort attached 1080p HD EIZO displays, in standard configuration attached to these HP Docking stations, are not recognized by the iPad and stay on standby (even if I manually change the signal input to DisplayPort).

As work around, a direct connection of iPad to 1 of these monitors via an USB-C to HDMI dongle plus HDMI to DisplayPort extension cable does work, but only for 1 extra screen at a time loosing USB-C charging for iPad as well.

If USB-C is supposed to enable universal connectivity for iPad as well, why can’t I extend my iPad desktop via a popular Docking station like this to both attached additional HD screens?

Should in this case DisplayLink, HP a/o Apple improve their extended desktop compatibility via additional drivers, iPadOS a/o firmware updates?

Please share your thoughts, ideas and additional work arounds.

Appreciate. Thank you.

I don't believe iPad supports display link. It does support DisplayPort and HDMI over USB-C. The iPad Air can only mirror the screen and can only use one external screen. Using an external monitor as a separate display is coming in iPadOS 16 for iPads with M1 processor or later.
