I have a new Ultra with an alpine loop band. I hooked it on my wrist fine but now cannot unfasten the hook to remove and charge the watch. Two hands are needed and I only have one because the other is wearing the watch.

I have an identical issue and I don’t have any dexterity handicap either. Theory? Not well thought out but the titanium hook may have a ‘new’ edge, not sharp enough to injure and maybe not sharp enough to fray any part of the band. But, also, not quite smooth enough to ‘slide’ over things into which it comes into contact. Just a guess.
