Black rectangular box on Apple Pencil?
I’ve noticed that on my iPad 7th gen, there is a black box on top of my screen when I select things with my Apple Pencil 1st gen, and I’d like to find a way to get rid of it.

The tags appended to your post indicate that you have installed iPadOS16 - and are therefore using beta software. Functionally that you see will not necessarily be representative of production software.
While iPadOS16.1 is expected to be fully released as production software on 24th October, should you wish to return to using the current production version, this support page provides the necessary information to remove the beta from your iPad:

iPadOS 15.7 is the most current production release.
Otherwise, the Terms of Use that govern participation within the ASC Support Community precludes discussion of beta software, features or bugs therein.
