BMW charging issue

My 2021 BMW has a charging plate that works on my husband's iPhone 11, but not on my iPhone 13 Pro. Is there something special I need to do in order to make my phone charge? It can communicate via bluetooth, but cannot charge. I have the current iOS on my phone.

Hello planoRunner,

The first thing you want to do when facing an issue like this is to try and isolate it to determine where the problem is originating.

Is your iPhone able to charge wirelessly with other wireless charger? This will indicate if the issue is with the iPhone, or with the charger in the BMW.

You can find information on how wireless charging works with your iPhone here: How to wirelessly charge your iPhone

Cheers.

Hi again planoRunner,

Thanks for that information. Does this issue persist after restarting your iPhone? Follow the steps from the Apple Support article to do so: Restart your iPhone - Apple Support

"How to restart your iPhone X, 11, 12, 13, or later

  1. Press and hold either volume button and the side button until the power-off slider appears.
  2. Drag the slider, then wait 30 seconds for your device to turn off. If your device is frozen or unresponsive, force restart your device.
  3. To turn your device back on, press and hold the side button (on the right side of your iPhone) until you see the Apple logo."

Should this trouble continue, get in touch with Apple Support for additional assistance:
