Unable to restore ipad with my computer. Do not know password or code

I have tried every method I can find to restore my daughter's ipad Pro and cannot even get my computer or itunes to recognize the device. What can I do? How can I restore it?

Ensure that iTunes has been updated to the most recent version. If you have a recent model iPad, you will require either a Windows 10 or Windows 11 PC.


If your iPad is still not recognised when connected, try using a different USB port. Otherwise, this support page should help with troubleshooting connection issues:

If you continue to experience difficulties, you might be well advised to seek assistance directly from from Apple Support. You can contact the Support Team using the Get Support link at top-right of this page. Alternatively, if you have access to another Apple device, you can initiate and manage your support cases using the excellent Apple Support App. If not already installed, the App can be downloaded from the App Store:

Troubleshooting a Locked iPad:

Your iPad is locked. So, get this serviced.


Hold it Right There!


Being Locked Out...

Enter the passcode incorrectly too many times, and you'd likely be locked out for good. So, hold it right there, and refer to this link: If you Forgot your iPad Passcode - Apple Support. It would be the one you've always entered. If you do not know it, then look for it in a location you may have stored it in.
