Already got a micro scratch on my iPhone 14 pro, Does Apple care+ cover micro scratches?

As you see on the title I got a micro scratch in my iPhone 14 pro. I don’t know when it happened but it defientntly happened before I got my screen protector. My question is if Apple care+ covers scratches it’s around half an inch but really bothers me

Not covered. But i also had a dozen different scratches in my first week with 14 pro max. I am VERY careful. I think it is a “manufactures defect” which is covered. If enough people have this issue then apple may declare this a covered issue.

also if you had applecare+ it wont cover a small scratch but if does cover more significant damage (like a hammer 🔨 to the screen). 🤔

Glass, which isn't protected can scratch. I wouldn't EVER own an expensive ($1000+ device) without putting a good quality screen protector on it. Every new iPhone I purchase is fitted with a screen protector, before it is ever turned on for the first time.

And I’ve never put a screen protector on any iPhone I have owned, and I’ve never had any scratches, micro or otherwise, on any of my phones.

Certainly your choice, my friend. After my iPhone 6 went without a screen protector and it got lots of micro-scratches, I vowed then and there, every new iPhone I buy will be screen protected out of the box.

I carried with a cloth in my pocket, I am a freak when it comes to this and I am a bit overly cautious that's why I bothered to try getting a trade in, I never have my keys close to my phone, I care about my belonging with minutia, It scratched 1 week in without going outside much, like seriously...

If a bit of grit gets in your pocket (pretty common in pockets) and gets between the cloth and the screen, the screen could easily get scratched. Pockets are not really great places for phones.

euuuh I want to add that it was an Microfiber Cleaning Cloth, without grit, there is no way a tiny speck of dust could do this because I am no construction worker who touches stuff like that (without meaning disrespect to them), if not a pocket do you carry it floating above your head or?

I'm not a construction worker, either but, when I do my laundry and turn out my pockets , there's lint and grit.

I carry my phone in my messenger bag most of the time.

I carry mine in a belt holster with a felt lining. It’s not the height of fashion, but I’ve never had any scratches on any phone. And I have a felt pad on my desk to put it on.

When I worked for VZW and had to have the phone at hand all the time, I used a belt holster. Best thing ever. Now that I don't need to be that attached, I haven't used one as much.

My screen is a bit scratched because I'm unwilling to worry too much about it. Nothing that interferes with usage or what remaining trade-in value it may have, though.
