Already got a micro scratch on my iPhone 14 pro, Does Apple care+ cover micro scratches?

As you see on the title I got a micro scratch in my iPhone 14 pro. I don’t know when it happened but it defientntly happened before I got my screen protector. My question is if Apple care+ covers scratches it’s around half an inch but really bothers me

Not covered. But i also had a dozen different scratches in my first week with 14 pro max. I am VERY careful. I think it is a “manufactures defect” which is covered. If enough people have this issue then apple may declare this a covered issue.

also if you had applecare+ it wont cover a small scratch but if does cover more significant damage (like a hammer 🔨 to the screen). 🤔

euuuh I want to add that it was an Microfiber Cleaning Cloth, without grit, there is no way a tiny speck of dust could do this because I am no construction worker who touches stuff like that (without meaning disrespect to them), if not a pocket do you carry it floating above your head or?

Of course grit could get in your pocket, whether you're in construction or not makes no difference.

We live in a world with micro-dust particles and some are perfectly capable of scratching your screen.

Instead of complaining about a micro-scratch, do something about not getting any more micro-scratches. A decent quality screen protector can be had for very little money.

hind sight is 20/20. I agree and i have always put the covers on within the first week. unfortunately i was on travel the first week this time. sooner or later the phone will inadverently be put in a bag or pocket with keys and get scratched. the disappointment is really just in how sensitive the 14 pro max really is to scratches. it is not as hard as previous models. i believe something happened in production

Dude, do you think this is my first iphone, i have two 14s and had a 13 pro max last and the one before that, all of them with ceramic shield and same formula. None of them scratched out of the box without any use.

this generic answer of the science behind shatter resistance inverse of scratch resistance is an old one used as an explanation for scratches over time. Not out of the box scratches.

also, if i was the only one, this page wouldn’t exist, along with so many reddit pages out there complaining about the same with the 14 series

Something that people don't realize about screen scratches is the fact that some carriers wont allow you to trade in a phone with some scratches. I couldn't care less if my screen has a few scratches, but when my 14 has more scratches over 2-3 months when my 7 plus has about 2-3 scratches over 6+ years, its a problem. I WANT TO TRADE IN MY PHONE but may not be able to due to the scratches on my phone. I'm very careful.

I have never had an issue trading my phone with Apple or AT&T if my phone had minor scratches on it. Never ONCE. Apple accepts phones with minor scratches for trade without question. They understand what normal wear and tear on a device which is mobile is like.

Perhaps you're in a different country where carriers have impossibly unrealistic expectations. But here in the US, I've not heard of ANY carrier not accepting a phone with minor screen scratches in trade.

Using a screen protector is a personal choice. If you use one of high enough quality, it will not feel any different than the actual iPhone screen. Apple sells and installs Belkin Screen Protectors in their stores every day of the week. Mine feels exactly like the actual screen. They have the very same Oleophobic coating Apple uses on their screens, so smudge resistant too.
