Mac studio display issues

I have a new Mac studio and studio display, and am having a few issues I cannot seem to resolve

none of the keyboard adjustment keys work (volume, brightness etc) they are selected to work in keyboard preferences, but do not work or change anything.
There is no way to adjust the brightness of the display. It’s greyed out in the sliders on the top right, and in preferences, there is simply no “brightness slider” as all my previous macs have had (it’s hooked up and set up as Mac display, using all Mac included hardware, cables etc, nothing after market)

Reset the SMC and your NVRAM:

(Applies to Intel-Based Macs Only): Sometimes when changes are made to the system(i.e. Updates), system configurations (i.e. for Power) become manipulated, technically. So, reset the SMC and NVRAM. Try performing each thrice. It may take sometime, being certain you have the time to perform these resets.
