I know it is relatively easy, as I've done it before, however, I cannot now find the link to open the change window. Apple support has not been useful.
Attached is a Mac Word doc that I need to change from Roman to Arabic style.

For the version of Word that I tested, you can have one or no footnotes selected and the Insert menu has Footnotes… present, allowing you to make the style change to all footnotes. If you select two or more footnotes, then that Footnotes… menu item is grayed out.

In Word, visit Insert menu > Footnote… On this panel, you are not inserting a new footnote, but rather changing the footnote style from Roman to Arabic for the Whole document, and then clicking Apply. All footnote numeration will become Arabic.
Tested: Word v16.66.1 on macOS 12.6.
Thanks. Numerous references upon web search provided similar guidance. I could never, and still cannot, find "Footnote" in the Insert Menu. The guidance provided by Tom Gewecke earlier today via his link solved my problem. That guidance for future reference by others is to put your cursor on one of a Roman Footer or Endnote, right click, and the Footnote and Endnote Menu will appear for any editing one wishes to do.

By jove, now it works. I cannot tell you how many times I tried to get that to work prior to submitting for help. Thanks for telling to go try again. This time I did it with no footers selected, so maybe that is what I was doing wrong, In any event I now have two ways to achieve success. Thanks.
