unchangeable Apple ID picture

Is anyone else having troubles updating the Apple ID photo on the MacBook Pro?

I follow the right steps and change it but the as I close system preferences, the old photo comes right back.

MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 12.6

Have you changed the photo on your card in Contacts? See if anything here helps.
