Macbook air display anti reflective coating
Hi
Got a mba 2021 M1 , and since this was my first mac product , i wanted to take extra care and i asked around , and was advised for screen protector to avoid any scratches or so .
I installed a screen protector , and have been using it for last 8 months and has been working like a charm. Recently in an effort to seal a peeled end of the protector i lifted the peel of screen protector to align it back well ,and i notice the screen is blank white without the protector , and only on putting back the protector i see the display content .
This is wierd , and has a chat with a support person and also submitted the product to a authorised service center , and i am told that the anti reflective coating is peeled off as i remove the screen protector
I am having limited warranty until 2023 Feb , and i would assume this would cover change of display part .
But the larger question is , how a coating be so easily removed with a screen protector , is the quality so poor for MBA display. I searched a bit in you tube i noted it is nothing to do with mba M1 , it has been there since mac Book pro 2017 onwards . (https://youtu.be/5Ly8HLNs2p8)
Also apple doesn't mandate a screen protector, but it also doesn't clearly say please don't install a screen protector. That is a gray area for layman customers like me
Any advice or support in this regard will be of great help
