iPad lost inbox for emails

Hi, I was doing some work on iPad. It was doing what I call buffering when I was changing a setting. It came up do you want to delete? I pressed yes, said it would take 2 mins to do. I then found I had lost all messages facilities, trash, sent etc. I can pick up my hotmail stuff on laptop. If I cannot get facility back and buy a new iPad will it be the same? Help! 🤔😊

Removing the email account from your iPad and then re-adding the account will often correctly restore your mailboxes.

To remove the mail account from your iPad:

Settings > Mail > Accounts > [Your email account] > Delete Account

Next, perform a restart of your iPad:

  • On an iPad with a Home button: Press and hold the top button and the Home button at the same time. When the Apple logo appears, release both buttons.
  • On an iPad with Face ID: Press and quickly release the volume up button, press and quickly release the volume down button, then press and hold the top button. When the Apple logo appears, release the button.

After restarting the iPad, you can re-add your mail account:
