Airpods pro (Gen 1) connecting issues

So i got my airpods pro today. And for some reason i can’t connect it to all my devices(apple devices). I can,but when i try to connect it to my ipad it says it cant connect, forget the airpods from bluetooth settings and try repairing them again.and i did.it connected. then if i want to connect to my iphone.the same notification comes up. And there’s this option in airpods setting that says ‘Connect to this iphone or ipad depends on the device…’ and i cant find that in my airpods pro settings either. Please help.

Hello pamudu272,

Your AirPods Pro should switch between devices without you having to do anything. These steps from Switch your AirPods to another device should make sure that happens:

Switch automatically

AirPods are connected to your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. Sound switches between them automatically.

To switch between devices automatically1 with your AirPods (2nd or 3rd generation), AirPods Pro (1st or 2nd generation), or AirPods Max:

• Make sure that you have an iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with the latest version of iOS or iPadOS, a Mac with the latest version of macOS, or an Apple TV with the latest version of tvOS

• Sign in with the same Apple ID using two-factor authentication

If you're signed in with the same Apple ID on your devices, your AirPods will switch automatically from listening to music on your iPad to answering a phone call on your iPhone, for example.

In some situations with macOS Big Sur or later, you'll see a notification about your AirPods on the screen of your Mac. Click Connect to confirm that you want your AirPods to switch to your Mac or stay with your Mac.
