why can't i have no passcode to use my phone but have wallet ask me for id

i thought that i could use my iphone 14 pro without a passcode and have wallet and apple pay ask for passcode when needed for money transaction. i can't turn off the passcode without deleting my credit cards. if this is possible, how do i set it up?

Passcode changed itself My iPhone change my passcode without any notice. Now I am unable to get in with only option to lose all my stuff with reset. After some research I found out now iphone change passcode by itself to the apple pay passcode if the current screen code is weak(which is my what i had a 4 digit code) Huge design flaw. I have all my other device with me with the same apple id and phone num, why is there no other way to use it to unlock it. I don't remember my apple pay passcode since nfc has been broken. Is there any solution to this massive design flaw, so I don't lose all my stuff?

You can't, if you don't set a passcode for the iPhone it won't let you use Wallet and Apple Pay.
