App specific password generation process is not working

The process for generating app specific password has worked in the past but does not seem to work any more. Message I get: Your app ID or password is incorrect.


The Apple ID is a .com address. The devices I used to setup email are MacOS and iPhone.


What am I missing?

Issue resolved - app specific password is not necessary on apple devices
