Why has the backlight for copy and paste changed?

Why has the backlight for copy and paste changedf? My usual pale green 'backlight' works with articles, posts, etc.....but I receive an email message from my church each week and.....when I go to backlight and copy...the color is 'blue' and it is only on each separate letter...not like the whole paragraph? Any thoughts?
