Macos Ventura won't enter Recovery Mode after holding down Command + R

Even after trying Command + R or Command + Option + R ; I still can't get into Recovery Mode with Ventura.

What's going on? Those should be the correct keyboard commands; no?

Thank You.

Thanks for clarifying! Apple silicon Macs, including your M1 iMac, no longer respond to Command-R or the usual key combinations used to summon macOS Recovery.

To start up in macOS Recovery on your Apple silicon Mac, follow these steps.

  1. Shut down your iMac.
  2. Press and hold the power button until the message "Loading startup options" appears.
  3. A boot picker menu should appear. Select Options and click Continue to continue into macOS Recovery. If you choose a startup disk instead, such as Macintosh HD, your Mac will try to boot that startup disk once, before using the default startup disk again.
