My MacBook Pro 14" 2021 rings when lid is closed

Hello,

I'm having an issue when my MacBook Pro 14" 2021 (Monterey 12.6) rings when my iPhone gets a call both when lid closed or asleep (it wakes up, mouse appears, and starts ringing). I find this odd because I have disabled "Allow notifications when sleeping". Any other suggestions? I don't want to completely disable calls on the laptop as I don't mind it ringing when its on and I'm using it. Just don't need it ringing when it is asleep. I feel like it shouldn't even be connected to the internet when its sleeping.

Edit: So I just tried putting it to sleep and having someone send me a text and that doesn't wake it up.

Thank you!

Something is actually preventing the mac from sleeping when closing the lid. You may think it is sleeping, as it is supposed to, but for some reason it isn't. This could lead to depleting the battery, besides the issue in this thread.

It could be a sensor problem - there is a sensor that detects when the lid is closed, and maybe that is not working correctly, but much more likely there is some software that is preventing your mac from sleeping as it should.

I am having the same problem. When I closed the lid, I still get notifications. If I close the lid slowly, I can see it's turning the display off at the very least. What's interesting is if I click on the Apple icon > Sleep, I do NOT get notifications.

EDIT: Just noticed you're experiencing the same behavior when manually putting it to sleep. I took that a step further... manually put it to sleep, closed the lid and.... I still get notifications. It's something with that lid.
