Since updating my 8th generation iPad to iOS 16.1 I’m unable to change the time font on my Lock Screen, anyone else having this problem?

I just updated my iPad to 16.2 and falsely assumed that I would be able to change the clock font similar to the way that I was able to do so with my iPhone. Apparently, we are still stuck with this HIDEOUS huge font. I'm completely dumbfounded that Apple would select a font that so poorly matches everything else about the iPad. I'm pretty sure astronauts can see this font from the International Space Station.
That has to be the ugliest font on record! I thought “upgrading” meant more and better options - not this! NOT HAPPY!!
The **** with “be patient,” it’s now May of 2023 & still not an option. :(
Also, it’d be one thing if the “update” were an improvement, but it’s hard to believe professionals opted for the ungraceful and clunky look of the loathsome font they selected

Seems this feature still hasn’t been added yet, hopefully it be in the next update…
How do you do it on a school iPad? Do we need the IOS 17 update?? If we do so, how do we get the new IOS?
Ask your school IT department for assistance as they control what
can be installed and/or changed on the school's iPads.
I was able to change font on my older iPad. Is this a capability that was taken away??
Wait till you see it on iOS 17.1.1 on iPad.
This because it is only compatible with iPadOS 17.
