Iphone 4 is shuffling songs in my playlists!!!!! Whats going on????
iphone 4, iOS 4
iphone 4, iOS 4
I had the same problem tonight. Started teaching my first Zumba® fitness class to 50 students with the playlist on my iPod when my iPod locked up after the first song. I couldn't even shut it off, so I grabbed my iPhone (backed up with the same playlist) and it worked but shuffled the playlist around. I just adapted, but didn't know how to "Unshuffle." Now I will make sure the shuffle icon is NOT BLUE and then lock the phone.
same here, i think it happens every time I synchronise the device using the wonderful iTunes.
very very very frustrating.
Also: inability to remember WHERE in a track the iPod app was before being interfered with by iTunes - makes listening to audio books with long sections really... challenging.
Would be nice if Apple could fix the iPod app. And or iTunes.
I've had this problem and just found that you need to turn of the "Shake to Shuffle" option.
-Click Settings
-Click on Music (or iPod, depending on your version of iOS)
-Tap the on/off switch next to “Shake to Shuffle” to disable this feature
None of these suggestions worked for me. Thankfully I had AppleCare and spoke with Tech Support. They recommended I go to Settings/Reset/Reset All Settings. Once my phone rebooted, the auto shuffling went away. Only had to redo my wallpaper and screen brightness. Hope that works for anyone with the same issue.
Unfortunately, going to Settings/Reset/Reset All Settings did not work for me. And none of the previous suggestions worked, either. Still stuck on shuffle. I'm calling AppleCare tomorrow.
For what it's worth...to those that said nothing has worked...
Try just quickly giving the artwork area a very quick "tap"...and then you'll see the drop-down panel with the blue Shuffle selected. (And yes, the solution works great, thanks!)
..it wasn't working for me because my "touch" was a little too long. I kept trying and trying, until finally I was like "wait a minute, I KNOW there's a timeline scrubber in here somewhere!" so I started trying different 'tap' speeds. You can't hold down too long or the artwork just sits there.
You rock. Thank You!!! Applecare better not try and charge me for putting me on hold for 10 minutes now...
Great, solved my problem. Thank you
I receive my iPhone on July 7, 2011. This is through our company as it is my work phone. Several months later it started having some serious issues. Made "Genius" appointment at local store. Diagnostics confirmed a problem. They replaced it with a refurbished model during that visit. Here I am about 6-7 months later, with the refurbished model having similar issues. Made "Genius" appointment, again. Tech sees there is a problem with the phone based upon diagnostics. However, because I am ~ 1 to 2 weeks past the puchase date of the **original** iPhone they can't help me. I explained this was a replacement phone and he confirmed such, but stated they couldn't really do anything. Note the phone is not abused in any way. The tech suggested a software reset. I explained I had done all resets and re-loads and set it up as a new phone already, everything suggested via the website. He did one anyway, and the phone worked great for about 3 days. Now it's back to doing all the problems I had with it before: unresponsive keyboard; painstakingly slow at opening programs; oh, you want to play that track no problem just wait 30 seconds to a minute before it starts playing; camera app (and most all others) crashing when opening or completely crashing the phone.
Why did I post this here? Because I'm having the same shuffle problem as others have posted...and no, it is not set to shuffle in any of the settings. I'm curious as to whether others have not only had the suffle problem, but are also seeing other problems with their phone that all seemed to emerge areound the same time.
Thanks!
thanks Joseph.... your suggestion fixed my shuffle problem! Jon in Florida
Whew!!!! you're a lifesaver.
My phone will not stop shuffling long enough to play a song. It just keeps switching continuously. I've tried rebooting, resetting all settings, closing and deleting apps that separately access my music and rebooting, creating a new playlist (it just shuffles that nonstop), asking friends, screaming at it, banging it on the table, etc.
I did try the suggested solutions above but I can't keep a song long enough to really do anything - and the shuffle buttons are all off.
HELP!
After reading the tread, one comment about touching/tapping screen, led me to a solution. I quickly tapped the phone, on the (near full screen size) album cover and a small menu appeared below the song and album title, partially covering the upper part of the album cover. This menu had the shuffle and non-shuffle icons, as well as the song length- time played and time still to play. I tapped the album cover again and the small menu disappeared. Another tap and the shuffle icons reappeared. Problem solved. Cheers.
Thanks for all the suggestions regarding tapping the cover art to make the options visible! I was flummoxed as to where they'd vanished to! I've just managed to disable shuffle, and listening through an album, it seems as though its back to normal *whew*
Thanks for your tips, was dying looking for the shuffle icons on Music play list since last week.
