After Ventura wifi and internet connection problems

After Mac OS Ventura, Kaspersky Internet Security is not compatible with Ventura, so the computer has problems connecting to the internet via wifi. You cannot use all your other applications connected to the Internet. The solution is to delete the Kaspersky application completely from the device, turn off the safari plugins and delete the kaspersky vpn if any. Please make sure your device's firewall is active and don't use risky websites and apps, so that doing these doesn't cause a security vulnerability. I contacted Kaspersky and they are not aware of the situation. The worst part is that no one on the apple side knows about this problem. I had a problem and I solved it. For your information too.

Same issue...Upgraded to Ventura then no or poor internet/wifi access. Tried turning off Kaspersky. No improvement. I ended up uninstalling Kaspersky, shutting off wifi then turn off computer. Start computer, turn on wifi...all was ok. Then reinstalled Kaspersky, turned off wifi, shut down computer. Wait a few seconds, turn on computer, turn on wifi. Wifi/internet is now back to normal. By the way...during the Kaspersky install you are asked to activate full disk access. Upon doing so, the setup window indicates green for accepted. But after the install and reboot, Kaspersky still indicates no Full Disk Access even though MacOS settings indicate otherwise. Thanks. Macbook Air M1 2020 running MacOS Ventura 13.0 .

The solution that worked for me.

After reading the Kaspersky - Ventura incompatibility issue, I opened Kaspersky running on my machine; Kaspersky was showing up Red warning message, along with a direction to provide 'full disk read access' to 'Kaspersky System Extension'. Note this one is different from the standard Kaspersky (it already had access).

The wifi connectivity and slowness issue got resolved immediately once I provided the access.

There is no reason to use additional security. Mac OS X has its own built-in background utility, known as XProtect.

Good safe practices for internet surfing will help you.

Protecting against malware in macOS - Apple Support

If you are worried about background apps that might be problematic, run Etrecheck, a scanner that tells you all the background apps and their potential for malware, and report here if you run into problems.

Yes, but Kaspersky has less than stellar record on Macs.

Much better is Malwarebytes.

Etrecheck combined with Devon Technologies EasyFind in safe mode is the best alternative to Malwarebytes, if you can recognize programs that don't belong on your system.

A little better, although with reservations is Avast, as some people believe Avast has sold personal data, which it denies.

The best policy is educate people how to look for phishing information in email, fake domains, and fake websites, and only open attachments from sources that have checked their source.

Please note, this tool is strictly for posting code. When you have a lot of white space in your code, it will become illegible in your post. It is better just to paste as plain text.

If trying to post content from a Etrecheck results, or the results of a long text file, this tool is better.

Word formatting may get really messed up, and saving as a plain text file is smarter.

There is no need to anything Kasperski or similar. It is completely irrelevant with Apple's internal security measures.

And, in general, problems with third party apps need to be addressed with their developer. Apple is not responsible for making those apps work.

Additionally, it will make it easier to help if you just type your question into the box provided. We don't write in code here.
