Photos Isn't working

My Brand New 24" 4 port iMac is not accepting images from my phone. When I try to open Photos I get this message. I need a link to fix it. BTW, is "MUSIC" a replacement for iTunes? Do podcasts, books, etc that were part of iTunes sync with my phone and iPod as they did in the past?

The image you attach suggests that you have migrated from a Mac that had an external disk drive named "OWC" (which happens to be the name of a company that sells such things), and that you had been storing your Photos library on that disk. You need to attach that same external disk to your new iMac either permanently or at least long enough to migrate your Photos library off the "OWC" disk onto the iMac internal drive (or a different external drive if you prefer).

As for your other questions, you must have come from several versions of macOS back. The functions of iTunes were split out into a number of other programs. "Music" handles playing and buying music, for example. The syncing function (podcasts, books, etc) is now handled by the Finder.

Any external drive you are using with Photos should meet the requirements described here:

If your old external drive does not meet the requirements, move the Photos Library to a different drive.

Which system version is running on your new iMac?

On macOS 13 Ventura see here, how to sync media between your devices without iTunes: Sync content between your Mac and iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

Thank you for the photo.

Sync Photos Through iCloud:

Sign in to the same Apple ID on the Mac and on the iPhone, and then enable Photos in iCloud Settings on both. Being

synced, as a result, Photos will be accessible between both both devices. Note that If you that thousands of files, it may take some time.

A. Enable Photos on iPhone:

  1. Click: Settings
  2. Tap: your Name (top item)
  3. Tap: iCloud
  4. Tap: Music (so that it is green)

and...

B. Enable Photos on Mac:

  1. Go to: System Preferences
  2. Click: Apple ID (on top-right)
  3. Select: Music (by giving it a checkmark)
