Dugle,
The iTunes Store used to offer the ability to gift an entire playlist in one action, but that ability was removed several years ago. You can certainly buy individual tracks and gift them, and let the recipient put them into mixtape sequence. Or, more commonly nowadays, create the playlist on Spotify (in the correct sequence) and send the recipient the link.

Dugle,
A "mixed tape," or more commonly a "mixtape," is either a burned CD or a continuous multi-song track (the latter usually in MP3 format). iTunes/Music cannot help you with the 2nd one, but a burned CD can be made from an iTunes/Music playlist. See info in here:
Create CDs and DVDs in iTunes on PC - Apple Support (ME)
(It works similarly on a Mac.)
yeah. that's what i figured: Spotify.
seems weird that Apple would eliminate such a feature. but to be fair, it's not the most perplexing Apple move; doesn't even rank!
thanks for the help.

MJ,
Agreed, and you are welcome. :-)

so there's no way to make a playlist, and then "share" it digitally (by purchasing each song for the recipient) ... voila ... a mixtape. no?
