Scans save as blank

I had the same problem once I updated to Ventura (13.0) on my iMac. I have an HP Envy Photo 7855 printer. I was able to successfully scan to .pdf (and not get a blank page) once I downloaded and used the HP Smart app for Desktop on my iMac.

Give VueScan a try. It has a demo version that you can try out. I find it to be more powerful than the apps that came with my two scanners, an Epson and a Canon. It's a one time purchase with lifetime updates. I recommend the pro version if you do a lot of scanning.

Go to the HP site and see if there's a newer version of the HP app.

Download and run the free GO64 app to see if the HP scanning app is 64 bit compatible or if parents of it are 32 bit. I had some apps that were like that and some features in them didn't work as they were 32 bit.

The same thing is happening to me and I am on a 24" iMac with a M1 chip. The last OS Update I had major issues with my hp Pagewide Pro MFP 477dw and it ended up having to do with the scanner driver. It took HP MONTHS to update the driver for the M1 chip but once they did, the scanner worked perfectly. I feel like it is the same problem this time around as well since a coworker who is on an older 27" (no M chip) and is having no problems at all with the scanner after the update to Ventura.

What application is being used for scanning? If using an HP one, you may want to try scanning with Preview or Image Capture to see if those work.

Fantastic! I'm still using the HP SmartApp for desktop. I can so relate to your frustration...technology is great until it isn't...lol.
