Just updated MacBook Pro to BigSur. Brother MFC-J65450W scanner now scans documents at one page at a time, creating one file for every page. Have tried Brother recommendations, have deleted and reinstalled Brother iPrint&Scan, as well as updated drivers. No luck.
Solved....something so simple as saving to file format PDF, either view the applications or save to:
Without knowing what you have tried or whether you are using the document feeder, with Big Sur and iPrint&Scan, my Brother DCP-L2540DW automatically saves multiple pages to a single file. If scanning manually without the document feeder, the Add page option after each page works to save to a single file. See:
