Apple menu > System Settings > Keyboard > input Sources - Edit button > Correct Spelling Automatically - off.

Thanks but Correct Spelling Automatically was off in the Apple Menu and computer still does what it does -- that is, it does not correct spelling but it changes words from what I mean to what it thinks I want it to mean.
