How do you access and edit Compass Waypoints from iPhone?

I have been able to save Waypoints on my Apple Watch but can’t find a way to access them on my iPhone. While I’m hiking I want to be able to see my waypoints on my iPhone in Apple Maps or the Compass app. I also want to be able to share waypoints using AirDrop to other hikers that I’m hiking with or strangers on the trail to show them where fresh water springs are or good camping sites.

I want the tools that Apple has made to have a multiplicatively productive affect the more people use them.

Workout routes not showing in 9.2 (Race Route) In WatchOS 9.2 I’m not seeing routes in the Workout app. When I go to the start of my route, select Outdoor Run and filter on Routes, there are no options. I run the same route all the time and it shows up in Fitness on my iPhone so I know the watch and/or phone is recording the route. I thought it might have something to do with my route not being along a public road. So I just tested by running the same half mile twice on a sidewalk next to a road known to Maps. It measured the 0.5 miles the same within a stride or two so that tells me the GPS reading is consistent. Still when I went back to the start of the route it did not show up in Workouts.
