M1 Air, is 90% maximum battery capacity at 56 charge cycles normal?

That seems like quite a lot of capacity decrease for only a few charge cycles. Assuming linear decrease (which might not be a valid assumption), the battery will be dead after only 560 charge cycles. My old Late 2013 MacBook Pro worked well into 1000 charge cycles.

Hi Joshua5684,

Thanks for posting in Apple Support Communities. It sounds like you are checking your battery capacity from Apple menu  > System Preferences, then Battery > Battery in the sidebar > Battery Health. Right? If not, you may be using a third-party app so be sure to follow the above process as mentioned in Get help with your Mac laptop battery - Apple Support.

If you see a capacity of 90% when following the path above, this may be unexpected. To find the expected cycle count for your MacBook Air model, check out Determine battery cycle count for Mac laptops - Apple Support.

Since this might be unexpected behavior, reach out to Apple Support if you have further questions.

Take care.
