Menu bar clock in Monterey

Occasionally the clock - in fact everything to the right of the Siri icon - disappears from my menu bar. It's selected as normal in System Prefs. There's no pattern to it. Sometimes after a restart it never appears. Sometimes it does, but then vanishes. I've tried everything suggested in other threads on this topic to no avail.

Hello William Boot,

Which version of macOS Monterey is currently installed? This can be found in the Apple menu > About This Mac.

This link can help with exploring any available updates, which will ensure it's using the latest available improvements/fixes: Update macOS on Mac - Apple Support

You may also explore upgrading to macOS Ventura which has further functionality: Upgrade to macOS Ventura - Official Apple Support

Prior to updating or upgrading macOS it's always helpful to ensure there's a recent Time Machine backup, to help preserve your data: How to back up your Mac - Official Apple Support

It can also help to test in a newly created Admin account, just to see if the issue is specific to the current account or if it's system-wide. This can help to determine the best path forward: Set up users, guests, and groups on Mac - Apple Support

1. On your Mac, choose Apple menu  > System Preferences, then click Users & Groups .
2. If the lock at the bottom left is locked , click it to unlock the preference pane.
3. Click the Add button  below the list of users.
4. Click the New Account pop-up menu, then choose a type of user.
Administrator: An administrator can add and manage other users, install apps, and change settings. The new user you create when you first set up your Mac is an administrator. Your Mac can have multiple administrators. You can create new ones, and convert standard users to administrators. Don’t set up automatic login for an administrator. If you do, someone could simply restart your Mac and gain access with administrator privileges. To keep your Mac secure, don’t share administrator names and passwords.

4. Enter a full name for the new user. An account name is generated automatically. To use a different account name, enter it now—you can’t change it later.
5. Enter a password for the user, then enter it again to verify. Enter a password hint to help the user remember their password.
6. Click Create User.

Cheers.
