Well, the solution is to determine the authenticity of the message, and if authentic, refer to the sender’s methods. But only a cellular carrier would likely be authentic here.

Chances are very good that the message that you received was a scam that was trying to trick you into buying useless software or worse.....trying to get you to reveal personal details.
