On what model device is this happening?

I don’t recall seeing the “ATVE.Player…” bit in screenshots before. Looks like an unintended string that should be replaced by the information it represents.

For the Apple TV app on a smart TV,

- verify that the TV system software is up-to-date.

- verify that the Apple TV app is the latest version, if not automatically managed by the OS.

- try a cold restart (powered off for a few moments; not sleep-wake) to refresh everything.

If streaming using AirPlay, please state so.

If you connect an external streaming device to your TV, please include that information.

I have the same issue. I went to the Samsung settings and software is all up to date. When I go to start a show I get all sorts of ave.punctuation.itemseperator and the like. And now for the life of me I can't turn off closed captioning. I also restarted the tv and reinstalled the appletv+ app. Suggestions?

I have this same issue. Did you ever figure out how to fix it?
