Ventura and QuickTime

I just upgraded to Ventura and I'm having problems with QuickTime. I am trying to record what is happening in another application (problem since I upgraded to Ventura) and I can't find how to stop the screen video. I was told to right-click on the icon but there is nothing there to allow me to stop recording.

there are two methods for stopping a screen recoding.

you can click on the "stop button" that appears on your menubar once you launch a recording.

or, once you launch a recording, you can use the "command-shift-5" keyboard shortcut to again bring up the recording controls, and press the "stop button" that then appears on the recording controls.

I personally prefer to use the menubar "stop button".
