secure2.store.apple.com doesn't work

secure2.store.apple.com hasn't been working for long period of time, at least for Canadian region (e.g. https://secure2.store.apple.com/ca/shop/order/list)

  • It is impossible to check status of an order
  • It is almost impossible to login
  • It is hard to process an order

The issue has already been mentioned previously (e.g. " safari can't connect to secure2.store.app… - Apple Community " ) . It means the issue hasn't been addressed other a month. Meantime, the issue has been preventing crucial users flows (e.g. ordering).

Meanwhile, none of answers from " safari can't connect to secure2.store.app… - Apple Community " is applicable. And I've already tried to clean or disable the cache, and incognito tabs, and other stuff.

It refuses to work.

Stack: macOS 12.6, Chrome 106.0.5249.119

Thank you for the insight. Indeed, it adds an additional perspective

Meantime, I spent an hour on a call with Videotron. They managed to reproduce the issue on their side, at least on one machine. Nonetheless, unfortunately, there were no much insights. We check settings of my network in the Videotron App, they restarted my router remotely — but no success.

I sent them outputs of the routes tracing and pings, i.e. records of network packages and their timing. Videotron assured they will process investigation, and, if something will be found, they will contact me, but it could take few weeks.

Furthermore, I contacted Apple as well. I spent on a call some time too. They assured my Apple ID has no restrictions, no blocked IPs, or any suspicious activities, so it is supposed to work well. In addition, they've never seen such a problem.

We had a screen sharing session, so we confirmed presence of the issue. Nevertheless, no solutions were found. Therefore, the issue was logged for further investigation, and, once again, if there will be found something, they will contact me.

Meanwhile, I managed to sign in to my account on my Wi-Fi, but only after installing a VPN. For purity of the experiment, I selected a random IP within Canada, and everything started working; nevertheless, maybe it is worth mentioning I was redirect on secure5.store.apple.com instead of secure2.store.apple.com.

Hello mthr273,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities. We see you've posted about being unable to open a specific Apple website. Thanks for posting the troubleshooting steps you've already worked through as well. You mention the browser you've used is Chrome. We'd first recommend testing the website in Safari to make sure it isn't browser specific.

Also, we are able to pull up the website on our end and don't show any system status with an issue at this time. Try our website link here that isn't specific to Canada: Order Status - Apple

If the website still won't load properly, test it while booted to safe mode: How to use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support

Lastly, to rule out any possible issue specific to your user profile, create a test user with admin privileges, log in to it, then test the website again.

Let us know how it goes.

Best regards.

Thank you for the reply,

Meantime, it is worth pointing out, only when I am redirected on secure4.store.apple.com — I can process authorization and order; at the same time, secure2.store.apple.com — doesn't work at all.

In order to avoid redirects on secure2.store.apple.com, I need either to disable cache or to open the site in incognito.

The same type behavior has been reproduced on Safari as well. Even an original post which I referred, — i.e. safari can't connect to secure2.store.app… - Apple Community , — is about specifically Safari.

secure2.store.apple.com — doesn't work, and the only hope to login and process an order is to be redirected on secure4.store.apple.com

And this issue has been for long period of time, i.e. the previously mentioned post is dated Oct 1, 2022

Hey mthr273,

Just so we're clear, were you yourself able to recreate this behavior within Safari, or were you just pointing out that someone in another post was able to? This could be important as far as isolating the cause on your specific device. if you haven't tried it yet, that'd be a great step to try. If it occurs within both browsers on your device, next, you might want to verify that you aren't running any security software or VPN software that could be blocking or restricting required ports for the network throughput. If you are using either, disable those and test again.

The If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected page provides some information specific to Safari as far as troubleshooting goes, and that would be a good collection of steps to try, especially if the issue is with a single, specific site.

Take care

Thank you for the reply,

Yes, the behavior was re-produced across all browsers and all devices on my home WiFi. The above provided screenshots are mine.

The only time when secure2.store.apple.com was working for me, when I tried accessed on mobile network from my phone, i.e. without WiFi.

Nonetheless, I don't use any VPN or any proxy, and I haven't changed internet provider for long period of time. By the way, it is a Canadian company Videotron. Is there possibility Apple added some IPs to a cancel-list, or vice versa — Videotron started preventing some connections?

It is worth mentioning — few months ago, everything was working well. I made orders without issues

Meantime, entire apple.com website works well for me. Only on secure2.store.apple.com, there are issues, so I cannot even sign in.
