iPhone, Carplay and WhatsApp all configured in one language. CarPlayWhatsApp sticks to old language configuration

iPhone (iPhone language and region configuration), WhatsApp and Carplay all configured in one language. Preferred Language Order: I have three languages in the menu, the configured language everywhere is in first place. Turned my iPhone off, turned it back on -> CarPlay WhatsApp sticks to old language configuration.

What am I doing wrong?

Hey there matias_rg,

As you mentioned the preferred language is already listed on your devices as the first one in the list of the three you set up, then let's take a closer look at some other possible causes:

  1. We see you have an iPhone 12 mini, which iOS 16.1 is the latest version for your model. You can verify this within Settings > General > About. Here's a link that'll show how to first back up, then Update your iPhone or iPad.
  2. We also recommend making sure that all apps are up to date: How to manually update apps on your Apple device
  3. Since you have three different languages set up, if you test removing all except for the main preferred one, then restart your iPhone, what occurs when you test for the same issue? Also, please let us know if the issue remains after adding back one of the three languages you like using on your iPhone.
  4. Do you have any firmware updates for your CarPlay? If you're unsure of how to check, you can reach out to the manufacturer of the CarPlay in your car for the steps.

Cheers.

Hey matias_rg,

Just to be sure, this issue is only affecting WhatsApp? If you don’t want to update iOS, try removing WhatsApp, restarting, then reinstalling the app. Doing this can often help when the issue is isolated to one app. Be sure you back up your WhatsApp data before doing this. You can read how to do this here:

Take care.
