Messages in Whatsapp writing from wrong side

Solved ! Download new WhatsApp version 2.24.3.76

Hey guys, I thought I’d jump in on the debate, I’ve been experiencing the same issue for a few weeks now (started after a software update for me as well) Here are some points if got from trying to figure out the issue:

1. ⁠(as was said earlier) changing the app language or the whole system language fixes the issue

2. ⁠Some apps still allow typing RTL correctly including Google Facebook (and even some apple ones like notes) it, however, does not work in other Apple apps, such as Safari (leading me to believe it is not a ‎WhatsApp issue as much as an iOS issue)

3. ⁠I’m currently on the latest version available (17.2.1 at the time of writing) and still experiencing the issue

Please let me know if you guys somehow find a fix and I’ll make sure to do the same, Thanks

If this only happens in Whatapp, you need to contact them about fixing it.

Contact Whatsapp, they probably need to update their app.

Could you indicate in which Apple apps besides Safari you have seen this problem?

I have the same problem with the direction of writing. When I want to write in Hebrew, the cursor is on the right but as soon as I start writing, it jumps to the left which is the wrong direction.

Here is a small list of native IOS apps I found to have the same issue:

1. Contacts app
2. App Store
3. Photos app
4. FaceTime

I have contacted them too same answer nothing changed. It happened suddenly after ios 17 update

Having the same issue. Both in IOS and Meta apps.

with macbook m2, my whatsapp is on version 2.24.5.76, it still happnes but only when you do a search. On chat etc it is fine.
