Can't login to apple tv app

I'm trying to setup Apple TV subscription offered through my phone provider, but I no longer have an Apple device so I setup a new apple account so I can access Apple TV through the app installed on an Android TV. So I've created the new account, jumped through all it's hoops. But when trying to use the new account to sign in on the app it says I need a iTunes account to proceed, but when I looked that up it says my apple ID IS my iTunes ID and tells me to input the code from my apple device, but I don't have an apple device that's attached to this account so I'm lost as how tp proceed here. I do have a family member with apple devices, so should I be sing their info to login to the TV app? Any help would be appreciated.

Indeed an iTunes/iTunes Store account is an Apple ID account that is ready for paid services (including free trials).

Possibly the account is not yet ready for iTunes Store/subscription use. Possibly it needs “activation”. Possibly some of the account information is incomplete or not verified. Your Apple ID account need the full user information as asked for. Your Apple ID account needs a verified email address (respond to test message). Your Apple ID needs a payment method for after the trial period, or when making purchases — subscriptions need a pre-authorized payment method that allows for automatic and periodical billing.

When you created the Apple ID account, it will have asked for a two-factor authentication trusted Apple device or trusted phone number. That is where you should receive the verification code.

Yeah I used a phone number but when I'm signing into the apple tv app it's not asking for a verification number. It's saying I need an iTunes account, but when I tried going to create one I'm told my apple id is my itunes account, so why is the app asking for something that essentially it already has via my apple id I input to start with? Will me visiting itunes or I guess now apple music and inputting my apple id trigger some sort of higher registration in the system and therefore make the app allow me entry?

I'm sorry this is all very convoluted and doesn't make any sense to me since the ecosystem I'm from really is one Id for absolutely everything so signing into one service is no different then signing into another, so once I've proven I should be allowed access I'm given it. No further hoop jumping required.

So please forgive me for needing it spelled out here. Because if my apple id truly where my only id needed for all things apple then the app should be allowing me access right?
