The iPhone 13 Pro is running 15.6.1 and issues an error message of “AirDrop {name} cannot accept passes.” for an airline boarding pass in Apple wallet.
The wallet accepts passes if added directly from the airline app. The pass can be added to wallet if the pass is iMessaged. AirDrop does work, the iPhone accepts airdropped photos. The sending source is included in Contacts and AirDrop is configured for Contacts Only.

If we understand correctly, there is trouble using AirDrop to accept a pass from another device.

Sending the boarding pass from another contact (who would not have an airline ticket) was not attempted/tested.
Boarding passes were routinely AirDroped between these two iCloud/iPhone accounts previously. Problem started in July 2022 with the new iPhone 13 Pro and/or iOS Version.
iPhone 13 Pro will not accept wallet passes via AirDrop.
