An apple id I don’t recognize was there saying it was the credentials used activating this ipad. I bought this ipad in a certified apple store product seller. Is it possible to have your device serial number stolen??

If you are the original owner, contact Apple. Apple can remove the ID if provided the required paperwork to include the original purchase receipt with the serial number on it.

You used to be able to take the device, the original purchase receipt with the serial number, and a photo ID to the nearest Apple Store (if it has reopened) and have them remove the ID. This may have changed, so call the store before going to make sure they can help.

I got an ipad mini, the first model kind. I was just browsing on it and suddenly it got activation locked. It asked me to put my apple id and password but it didn’t recognize mine which is what i have used since for all my apple devices.
