how to backup iphone or ipads so restore will be exact as source incl all folders

In past when I restored to new device, original folders did not come in exactly contents of folders were individual icons.

There are two ways to backup. You can use iCloud and back up over WiFi or you can use iTunes with a computer or if using a Mac running Catalina or later, you use the Finder. In either case, your app and folder structure should be maintained when you restore the backup.


There is no way to backup that will ensure that folder structure will be maintained. But as I stated, when restoring the backup, it should happen.
