iPhone 14 Pro often will not allow swipe up to close apps

My new iPhone 14 Pro often will not allow swipe up to close apps, the screen is unresponsive. I have to lock/unlock the phone to clear the problem.

Increasingly frustrated with screen issues. I’m noticing other weirdness with touch. I’m getting touch hypersensitivity to the point of where I’d swear I didn’t even touch the screen. Also it is interpreting touch as a gesture when it was just a touch. Ugh 😩

Will be using the phone then suddenly it starts glitching like I'm doing swiping motions on the phone when I'm not even touching the screen. Can't continue with the app I was using until I lock and unlock the phone.

The other issue I see is on some apps or web-sites that display in full screen where the 'X' or close option is at the very top of the screen I am unable to click it to close and have to try to swipe the full-screened app down with hopes it will exit full-screen or close the app altogether and re-open it.
