Trying to pair brand new iWatch 8 with iPhone 8. It says it pairs and then immediately unpairs. Have tried to troubleshoot with no luck.

Is your iPhone updated to iOS 16.1? If not, it must be updated.

I thought my phone was updated to the latest OS version since I get automatic updates. However, it wasn’t. Once the update was installed the watch paired.
