AirPlay code prompted for non-apple device

I have recently purchased a network receiver, and set it up on our home wifi. When trying to stream music to it by selecting it as a possible device in the "Music"-app on either iPhone or iPad I am prompted an AirPlay code that is supposed to be shown on the network receiver display. Which it isn't.

How do I fix this?

iPhone 13 Pro, iOS 16

LarsScania,

Thanks for the update. We recommend making sure you've tried the steps here to set up AirPlay: Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support

If you continue to not receive a code, you may want to restart both devices. Should the issue persist, we suggest reaching out to the manufacturer of the network receiver for further troubleshooting.

Have a great day!

LarsScania,

To make sure we're on the same page, it sounds like you're saying that your iPhone prompts you to enter a pairing code from the third-party device, correct? If so, you may want to check any documentation provided by the manufacturer, as you would often find the pairing code there. If that doesn't help, we recommend contacting the manufacturer directly next. Let us know what you find.

Take care.

LarsScania,

Got it. You mentioned the this device was a network receiver with Chromecast. It's possible that these steps may help:

Can't see a code during setup - iPhone & iPad - Chromecast Help

Once completed, if the issue persists, it may be best to contact the manufacturer of the network receiver to inquire about additional steps they can recommend.

If that doesn't work, contact Apple Support using the following link to see if they have heard of any issues with this connection: Contact - Official Apple Support

Take care!

No, it's the other way around (you wouldn't have a third party device initiating an Apple AirPlay code to be prompted on an Apple device, to my knowledge). My Apple devices says that the code should be seen on the receiving device (in this case the network receiver), I assume as a "receipt" or confirmation that the device in question is the correct one.

Sorry for not being more clear in my original post.
