80% of the songs I downloaded onto iTunes prior to Apple Music's launch in 2015 have been greyed out. I cannot play them on my MacBook, even though I can still play them on my phone. Is this a bug? Is there a fix?
I’m talking to Apple support that is what I’ve narrowed it down to also.
If you remember when Apple Music switched to subscription, they started mapping all the songs you had downloaded to a song in their database. It messed up some of my Albums, my Aerosmith Live one could map, but the songs existed so they mapped to the non live version.
It looks like that original mapping got mapped to a new update and that broke. My assumption is if I reuploaded the music into iTunes from my computer and resynced it would map correctly but holy crap that would be a lot of work.
Yes. I spent three hours with Apple phone tech. No fix.
I'm just going to have to re-download 6,000 songs... I'll just do it little by little when I have free time.
The good (interesting) thing is that the songs are not greyed out on my iPhone and I'm still able to play them on phone. I rarely play music on my MacBook. But, yes, it's going to be a lot of work...
Well that’s just fantastic… lol I’m sure there is a “fix” it’s just a matter of if they want to program it or not in an update.
Did you already update your phone to 16.1? I feel like this just happened in the last one or two updates.
I’m assuming this will **** quite a few people off but who knows, maybe I got in so early on this that my phone isn’t mapped right because I was on some of the original mapping.
