Can I deleted old machine name backups from TimeMachine?

I have an old MacBook backup (machinename.backupbundle) on my TimeMachine that takes up 1.32 TB of space. Since I no longer need that backup, can I delete that backupbundle to free up that space?

Also, I received a "Claim Existing Backups or Make New Backup" message when backing up my current MacBook. By selecting "Claim Existing Backup", will I get that 1.32 TB of space allocated to the new MacBook backup, or will it incorporate files from the old machine (which I no longer need) into my new machine's backup?

A - The second part of your above statement in bold.

A - It will not delete or remove the Old Backup bundle

A - If the user is 100% certain the Old Backup will never ever be needed - then suggest Reformatting the Drive Completely to actually regain the 1.32 GB of Space

A - Then setup the drive as a New Time Backup drive on the new machine.

A - But if not 100% certain the Older Backups might be needed in the future - purchase an New Drive which is 2 1/2 time larger that the Internal Drive
