Text replacement converting to uppercase

I find it painful to type in "i.e." into my texts as the i automatically gets capitalized to I. That is probably a good thing, but when you want to write "i.e." short for "id est" it takes some time. I tried to create a text replacement so that when I type in "ie" it automatically creates "(i.e." which is what I want, but text replacement has changed it to "(I.E." which is not what I want. So in essence, the text replacement is automatically capitalizing the letter i, and I was wondering if any of you cool people out there know how I can get around this (i.e. using text replacement, see what I did there)?

Hi RudyBizza,

To clarify, does this text replacement show up incorrectly no matter which app you type it in or is it limited to a particular one? Have you tried restarting your iPhone? This can sometimes help with minor software issues. Also, are you completely up-to-date on your software? We want you to have the latest patches and features. You can learn your options for updating here: Update your iPhone or iPad - Apple Support

You can also try resetting your keyboard dictionary to see if that helps. Here's how:

1. Go to Settings  > General > Reset.
2. Tap Reset Keyboard Dictionary.
All custom words and shortcuts are deleted, and the keyboard dictionary returns to its default state.

We hope this helps.

Take care.
