Photos on Apple TV

I am unable to view Photos from my Mac on my TV. I am able to listen to iTunes, but not view Photos. I have an older version of AppleTV; model MC572LL/A; software 6.2.1. Could this be the problem?

I think photos should work too on Apple TV (2nd generation), but photos is organized a bit differently on the Mac.

What is the version macOS on your Mac? Find out which macOS your Mac is using - Apple Support

You can also share photos from your computer with your Apple TV. On your computer with iTunes, open iTunes and go to File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos to Share with Apple TV. [1]

You can also view photos from your computer on your Apple TV. On your Mac with Catalina or later: Choose Apple menu  > System Settings, then click General in the sidebar. Click Sharing on the right. Turn on Media Sharing, then click the Info button next to it. Then select Share Photos with Apple TV. [2]
