Mac Studio Suddenly Crashes and Reboots - DCPEXT0 PANIC - IOMFB int_handler_gated: failure: axi_rd_err [0x40300634]

Hi,

I was working in Pro Tools and all of a sudden, my Mac Studio Ultra shuts down. Can someone read the report and tell me what may have happened? I have read that HDR videos on Youtube may trigger this but I was not on youtube. I'm running macOS 12.6.1. Thanks

Mac Studio

The below are only a few of what is appearing. Some of this dates back to Snow Leopard and Panther plus the Ad Guard

There are aspect in this setup that are way beyond my ability to suggest a permeant solution under the present setup other than to Erase the Drive and start from a clean slate.

Thereafter, do not migrate any TM Backup to the clean installation. Then commence to inventory what Drives and Application are really required to preform what the user really needs to function.

  1. This is one Very Heavily Modified Operating System.
  2. It also to be running Multi-External Drive all at the same time for various purposes .
  3. At Least one drives a Fusion Drive. " Q - disk3s3 - M**********D (APFS) [Fusion Drive] (Shared - 15.41 GB used)"
  4. Proxy Auto Config
  5. Configuration Files: /etc/hosts - Count: 65
  6.  /Library/Application Support/AdGuard Software/com.adguard.mac.adguard/kext
  7. Any of the below should be removed as per Developers Instructions Ad Guard,
  8. Library/Extensions/PACESupportFamily.kext/Contents/PlugIns [Not Loaded] PACESupportLeopard.kext (5.9.1 - SDK 10.4)

Sorry, I didn't see the follow-on posts about the EtreCheck report. Good suggestions already provided by P. Phillips.

You have a lot of kernel extensions installed which can (and often do) cause kernel panics. Below is what I had posted before I saw all the rest of the posts.

If you have any external devices connected via USB, disconnect and test.

If it still panics, take it to an Apple Store Genius Bar or Authorized Repair Center.

If it doesn't panic, try each device until you can isolate it to a particular device. Then, try changing cables for the device. If that doesn't help, what kind of device is it? Are there any software drivers for it that need updating?

Sorry the computer is experiencing this issue but not any good a Crash Reports

Alternative for persons outside of being an Apple Software Engineers would be -->>

Download the Application Etrecheck directly from the Developer.

The application is free or paid from added features.

It will take a Snap Shot -  both the hardware and software.

The Report will Not Reveal Any Personal Information.

Post back the Full Report - copy and paste ——> using the Additional Text Icon ( 3rd Icon to last ) <——

We can have a look at the report for possible issues and may have possible suggestions to resolve the issues.

Thanks for the info, P. Phillips. Really appreciate it. The reason you see several outdated files is due to me migrating my 2008 intel Mac mini to the Mac Studio. I was under the impression that it'll only copy "system" files from one Mac to another that it actually needs. I agree that a clean installation would be best and I plan to but I'm knee-deep in a project which I need to complete before making such a move.

To begin with, yes, I will remove Adguard. The above files you mentioned, PACESupportLeopard.kext, PACESupportPanther.kext, SnowLeopard.kext, can I manually trash them?

Also, I did update Etrecheck to 6.7.2 and the report is twice as big. If you have a moment to look at it, is there anything else that you see which could also be a problem?

I've had the Mac Studio since August and the only time it automatically restarted was when using Pro Tools so I believe I should look at plugins, etc.

Thanks again, P. Phillips!

Generally, a good way to remove a Third Party Application is to use the Developers Instructions.

Some of these Files and Applications may be problematic to remove even after using the Developers Instructions

There are some Applications that may or may not assist in this matter
